Although as always not everyone is a fan, there is no denying that Wiz Khalifa has become a force in not only the mainstream music scene, but also kept true to the roots of sincere creative passion. With his new sophomore attempt ‘O.N.I.F.C.” on it’s way and the announcement of the single ‘Work Hard’, Khalifa is more than moving on from his most recent free mix tape, released just a few weeks ago.
‘Taylor Allderdice‘, a hefty 17 track collection of mostly just Wiz, is full of both additions to the playlist and attempts that fall a little short. Stand-outs of the mix include ‘Never Been Ft. Amber Rose & RIck Ross, a more dreamy beat with “taylor”-made spits from both Khalifa and Ross, ‘Number 16’ which boasts a Rolling Stones feel with a solid hook, and ‘The Grinder, a Mos Def sounding beat with endless waves of effortless rhymes. Honorable mentions would have to go to ‘Amber Ice’, which although good, I personally believe was bested by Curren$y’s attempt on the track, and ‘Mary 3x’, a song with some good parts that are unfortunately flooded in seemingly endless sub-par hooks.
Wiz Khalifa’s newest mix tape is a solid release to hod off his fans for ‘O.N.I.F.C.’ and the even sooner release of ‘Work Hard’. ‘Taylor Allderdice’ is, although not without a few flaws, a more than good collection and still gets the A.V.S. stamp of approval. Khalifa is working on the new album with previous collabs Stargate which is expect to drop officially on August 28.
